LL Medico Diapers and More Bambino Diapers - ABDL Diaper Store

I have the old style Maytag. One thing I noticed about the Maytag was the spin cycle was much more effective than my older Kenmore. As for the HE models, they require more expensive detergent. When I looked at the energy savings, the cost saving of the HE model did not offset the increased price of detergent.

I bought a HE washing machine with an aggitator this is the most anemic machine I have ever seen, it depends on the detergent to get the cloths clean not the action of the machine itself.

There was an article in, I think, Consumer Reports that slammed HE's pretty badly a couple of years aog

One critical feature for me in a new washer is a washer that heats the water to a high temperature. Diapers after a few uses develope an awful urine smell once they are wet. One wash in the high temp setting eliminated that problem. Also the HE, High Effeciantcy washers are nice. The detergent is expensive but it lasts a long time.

I wash my diapers and waterproof pants by hand (in a bucket) using Purex laundry detergent. No problem with bad smells. If I had large loads of diapers, then I would probably use a machine. But on my days off (when no one is at my house), I only go through three diapers and soaker panels. It is best to dry everything on low (or possibly medium) heat because too much heat will eat up the elastic in waterproof pants like crazy--same with underpants.

If you have seen what I have seen, you would not even want to hear the word "pods"

I have to add every option my HE washer has, extra rinse, heavy wash, extra long cycle, etc. I also add the vinegar to the fabric softener tray since everything is automatic and that seems to work better than adding it to the bleach tray. Still- they come out smelling a little bad but that does go away when they are completely dried.
