1: If you're not eligible to vote (e.g. being, you know, across the Atlantic) can you still pick who you 'would' vote for?

2. Why would you put an 'independent' option? Surely that's the same as 'I don't vote'? :P

Dailydi, we'll try. Ok, I'll just give my reasoning, I won't rebuttal. I was originally thinking independent, but the candidate I was interested in decided against running. Of course, Mitt Romney made some comments about foreign policy that were really dumb and in fact, upset his economic message, since there is no way you can balance a budget while starting wars with China, Russia, Iran, etc.; the military budget would be too bloated. Then Bill Clinton made that speech and he said some things that really resonated with me (I really like Bill Clinton). So, I wish the economy would have gotten better faster, but Bill did a good job justifying why that did not happen. I did vote for Obama in 2008 and I am going to vote for him in 2012. Based on what it coming out of the Romney camp recently, namely the attack on Obama's foreign policy while he was in the middle of handling a foreign policy crisis and the comments he made during a fundraiser, I think I made a good decision.

I will go for Obama, not that I like everything he's done. I'm a pretty liberal guy, so there's times he could've been much more progressive but he chose to govern as a centrist. Romney in my opinion has had a terrible campaign, though I don't really think he believes half the stuff he had to say to win the primary, his economic plan is basically Bush version 2.0 so I'm obviously not in favor of further cutting taxes for the wealthy. This is all opinion of course, not meant to start an argument just explaining how I feel about both candidates.

I vote based on one and only one issue. If they don't respect the 2nd amendment, they don't believe in the constitution as it was written. One candidate has never been photographed with any sort of firearm or defending the rights of gun owners that I'm aware of and has used every shooting where disarmed victims are preyed upon by people breaking the law to further a gun control agenda. The other candidate owns guns, is against gun control and spoke at the NRA national convention.

I'm surprised a Libertarian party has seen a ground swell. Parot might have been close however there wasn't a large enough populus that supported him. However I'd guess there are enough Libertarians to make a difference.

Right on Botox.. Dailydi, I'll do like diapered Jason, give my reasoning. I won't rebuttal

I'm 100% for Romney! Not so much Romney as I'm voting against BHO. Obama's always talking about what he inherrited.

He inherrited a unemployment 7.3%, he inherrited Gallon of gas $1.83. He inherrited debt 10.6 trillion.

What has he done. He's driven the gas prices up, cause he's all for the Green Jobs. Even though it costs more money and the Green jobs aren't ready yet. They quit making the Chevy Volt, cause they weren't selling. He gave $527 million to Solyndra. Now they're bankrupt! Waste of the tax payers money. He's against the Keystone xl pipeline deal. It would make us less dependent on Oil from the Mid East. It would create thousands of jobs! He's against coal, remember he said he would Bankrupt any coal plants! The EPA is running wild implementing cap and trade. If he's reelected, we're in danger of massive roving black outs! Due to these Policies!!

Cause of all that, we're now paying $3.75 per gallon for gas

Unemployment is 8.2%.. We have more people on welfare and Food Stamps then ever before. Essentially unemployment is the new welfare! Unemployment is a bridge to go from one job to the next! Not to make a living off of! A big reason it's so high, is business don't know what's going on with Obama Care. They can't afford to pay for their employees, there for people are getting laid off. Papa Johns already said they're going to raise their prices, cause of Obama Care. KFC has said it's going to cut their profits in half.. Guess who will suffer from that, we will the consumer. That's fewer jobs, and higher Prices! 3.5 million people have dropped out of the work force. They're no longer counted! If they came back in, unemployment would be much much higher! Oh yeah on obama care, guess who will be hit with the Penalty tax! The uninsured, the poor the young people that can't afford it! For example if I can't afford say $40 for Health insurance, then they'll hit me with a Penalty for $50. If I can't afford the $40, how can I afford the $50!

Foreign Policy is a disaster.. His Claim to fame, is he killed Bin Laden

He killed him with Bush's Policies, the same ones that Obama was against!

Obama didn't do anything that any other President wouldn't have done! Except for Clinton, he had a few chances to kill Bin Laden.

He couldn't meet with Netanyahu, the clock is ticking for Iran to have nuclear weapons! Instead he went on Letterman.

On September 11, we were warned by Libya days before the riots took place! The stupid video was an EXCUSE.. This was a planned attack, and we did nothing! Take that back we apologized!! They attacked us cause it was the anniversary of 9-11!

Romney looked more Presidental then Obama. He came out and Pretty much defended our American values.

We never should've apologized, we look WEAK!

When you look weak to bullies, they will keep attacking you!

I'm a person of average intelligence, yet I knew toppling Egypt and Libya was a very bad thing.

We were on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood!

I knew these riots had little to do with the youtube video, that video was out since June! Why weren't they rioting then!

The Anniversay of 9-11 was no Coinsidence.

I actually voted for Obama. He talked a good game, unfortuntley that's all it was!

I will be voting for Romney. There's my reasons.. LOL

He Killed Bin Laden, with Bush's policies! He did nothing that no other Presdient wouldn't do! Take that back Clinton had many chances to kill Bin Laden, but he didn't!

It's funny how people think that the president controls gas prices...in the heyday of George W., gas was over $4.00/gallon...in fact, up until the November 2012 election, gas was still WELL over $3.00/gallon. Obama had 2 years with a Democratic congress to try and implement change before the Tea Baggers got majority. Considering that many votes depend on a 2/3 majority, it's not surprising that Obama wasn't able to fix 8 years of Bushy goodness with the 2 years he had with an almost reasonable Congress.

The leaders of our current Congress have admitted that their main objective has been to get BHO out office. That's it. Not to create jobs, not to fix the economy, just to get the "Kenyan socialist dictator" out of office. Given the fact that they (the Congress) just shot down a bill that would put many veterans back to work as police officers, firefighters, and first responders, I don't see how there could be any question of who is actually out to screw the American people.

Um, no.

In late 2008, when gas was $1.83, the DOW was trading below 7000.

Now gas is $3.50+ and the DOW is trading above 13,000.

The DOW has doubled, gas has doubled, it doesn't take a genius to make that connection.

Gas is high again because the economy has actually IMPROVED under Obama. *gasp!*

I look at various factors in determining who gets my vote:

Foreign policy:

Fiscal and Economic Policy

National Security/Immigration Policy

Healthcare Policy

While I am a part of the LGBT community, I don't vote based on a candidate's LGBT rights point of view, because, as the 14th Amendment is written, every American is protected equally under the law, there are no exceptions for gays, lesbians, or transgendered individuals. Unless LGBT opponents get enough support for a Federal Marriage Amendment, the Supreme Court will strike down all legislation excluding same-sex couples from being married.

That all being said, neither candidate is ideal in my eyes.

In all areas I look at, Obama has failed to deliver:

Foreign Policy: Obama's foreign policy seems to be one of apologizing for his predecessor's actions. America is the world's only current superpower. George Bush took action to protect the world from two madmen, Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. The United Nations Security COuncil is a broken organ that even the UN General Assembly has questioned the ability of the UN Security Council. When the UNSC is unable to collectively gather the resolve to act, the United States should take action with a coalition of regional partners to ensure the safety of civilians and our allies. Syria has already attacked a Turkish jet, which could trigger the NATO treaty's mutual-defense provision. A president needs to be vocal and stern when a country threatens the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Economic Policy: Obama has sunk money into failed plans to stimulate the economy. He invested money into a company and then did nothing to ensure the company spent the taxpayers' money responsibly. The economic situation has not gotten better under Obama, the statistic the Democrats like to tout, the unemployment rate, has gone down, not because people have gotten jobs, but because they've been out of work so long that they no longer get unemployment benefits and thus don't count towards the unemployment rate.

National Security Policy: Obama is a supporter of amnesty for illegals, illegals are called illegal because they broke American law by coming here outside the law. Obama has pledged to extend the amnesty program he's already started if he is reelected. With the economy on the mend, the last thing we need is more foreign workers taking jobs from Americans and then turning around and sending money to foreign countries to be funneled into the drug cartels. Obama's Administration also has refused to cooperate with the Congressional investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama Administration-led program that let high-powered weapons into the hands of drug cartels, only to be used against Americans.

Healthcare Policy: Under the 10th Amendment, healthcare should be a state-run program, not a federal tax.

I also have a bone to pick with Obama over his pick of Elena Kagan for Supreme Court. Most people know her as the newest Supreme Court justice, but what some don't know is that she was the main architect of the Obamacare legislation. During her confirmation hearings, she refused to recuse herself from cases she was previously involved in, which is a clear-cut conflict of interest. She invoked the Ginsburg Precedent of not answering questions on certain issues, however, Ginsburg had a record of published decisions as a judge, Kagan did not, she was largely an academic.

In the words of Mojo Nixon, when you turn 18 you "get to vote for one fool or the other" :o Why don't I feel privileged to have that right? Perhaps Mojo was right, methinks they are all fools and those who support them suspect of the same offense. There is nothing worth supporting here folks, keep moving along quietly and pay no attention to the men behind the curtain....

Very excellent points by you two guys. I don't buy that the economy is improving. For what I've read is that European socialist countries are buying US bonds and the QE3 that is only temporary helping. But in my trade I'm not seeing it income is up but so are expenses and taxes. Romney has a tepid plan, Obama has no plan matter of fact had no plan. I was also one of the people Barry let down. I'm still undecided ill have to see how the debates go.
