Technical Feedback

Okay so I am posting a story in the main story forum called The Middle. I realize it may not be everyone's cup of tea content wise, but I would love to have your feedback on what I can do to improve my overall writing style and technique. I love getting feedback from people when they enjoy my stories - usually I get messages of encouragement (or discouragement ) such as "nice story" - very seldom do I get critique or feedback on the quality and nature of the writing itself. I'd love to know where I am weak and what I could do to improve, so if you have a moment I would greatly appreciate your help.
