  1. Does anyone besides me remember them? I cannot find any references to them on the web at all
  2. In my recent travels, I came across a most extraordinary lot of baby panties that were the old new stock of a Southern U.S. drugstore. I wondered why the owner of the building didn't throw the lot away when he came across them. But fortunately, he didn't. I procured the lot of baby pants in their original packaging. I was astonished at what I found. There were about thirty Playtex baby panties in all sorts of styles, colors, and material. They were in mint condition each in their respective box, except one that was in a cellophane bag as packaged by Playtex. But what was really surprising was the sizes of most of those baby pants. They were all either extra large, toddler, or toddler large! It was the first time that I had seen a pair of toddler large baby pants, and they were huge! The lot contained about a half dozen of these enormous size panties. The vast majority of the rest of the panties were of the toddler size. They were both of the pull-on style but the slight majority were of the snap on variety. Most were of vinyl material but a few were of a waterproofed silk material. None were of a rubber material. Although the vast majority of the baby pants were of the white transluscent color, a few were pink and one was blue. The transluscent panties were of a similar smooth vinyl material to the present day adult vinyl panties made by Gary or Leakmaster. They feel very soft and nice. I wish I were small enough to slip into a pair ( I bet you do too). they appeared to be from two eras of manufacturing by Playtex because there were two different types of boxes although they all contained the same style and material of baby panties. All were called " Panty" on their packaging, and all have at least on image of a cute baby on them. In addition, some have a small printed paper inside the box with the panties. The pull-on style had the characteristic stitched sides of Playtex with small "breather" hole patterns near the waist on either side of the waist. And they all had a small tag attached to the waistband of the panty giving size and other information. The tags appeared to be made of vinyl as well. Another piece of evidence that suggested they were of two eras were the snap-on panties. Some snaps were made of metal and some were made of a plastic like material. I took the latter to be of a later manufacture. Most of the panties had a slight lanolin type coating. They all had a fresh baby panty scent. One box was unique in that it had two panties in it for a special sale price. And all boxes had the price of the day on them. I may post images of some of these baby panties in the future if there is any interest in them. In all my years of collecting vintage baby panties, I've never come across such a fantastic lot of well recognized brand new vintage baby panties.
  3. Thise images often lead to sites about the product or the ads for the product. Better change into something dry and comfy, first. This might be useful for the Diaper Museum https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1156&bih=574&q=baby+pant+ads&oq=baby+pant+ads&gs_l=img.3...2575.10428.0.12534.13.11.0.2.0.0.95.892.11.11.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..0.10.826...0j0i24.7GEJMGKhiM8#imgrc=QhFA7UEh1eeXOM%3A
  4. KINS RUBBER PANTIES Babykins Products 8171 Seafair Dr RICHMOND, British Columbia, Canada V7C 1X3 665-BABY (2229) http://www.babykins.com This company makes baby and adult products that include diapers and waterproof panties ITEM: 11000 to 11005, depending on size: Waterproof Rubber Panties MATERIAL: Natural, medium-weight 16 gauge rubber. One of the thicker ones on the market, feels smoother than most. ELASTICS: Lyycra; fairly wide and tigh RATING: 7. Size choice would be an equal mix of the waist size and the thickness of the diaper(s). you should propably get the largest size that you think will fit. In some cases a 36" waist will be perfectly comfortable with an X-Large MEASUREMENTS: The sides are about 10" at the shortest point from waistband to legband and the crotch is about 11.5" at the narrowest point. SHAPE: Full cut but not as much as the Comco or A. C. Medical, but stretchy NOISE: Some but not much RATING 5 (with 10 being a rustle/crinke fest fantasy). While that is fair to middling for babyishness it may be too much for other purposes LEAKS: As long as the elastics are good, they are negigible. RATING: 9, To be sure, like any, they can be over-wet or worn with too-thin diapers. COLORS: Ivory; RATING: 1 for choice, 9 for period authenticity PRICE: Varies wit size, but still pricey, see size and price chart PAYMENT: PayPal, which is a big plus. THE POSTAGE FEE varies with the size of the order SIZE & PRICE CHART NOTES: The Company name is Babykins; the adult line of products is called "Kins" It appears that the rules for evaluating real ruabber panties can be a bit different than for plastic since the material has some strethiness. However, you may want to keep stretching to a minimum to save on wear and stress. Good quality real rubber panties are fairly pricey, which is why plastic replaced them and as you see, this is still true. Sizing is an issue. You can use 3 sizes with the same waist size If you are a 35 then depending on the thickness of your diapers you can go up to X-Large and the waist and leg elastics will still work. To keep from wearing them out quickly by stretching them, use the largest size that will work. I do not know how AB friendly Babykins is, Jenny told me that these are more incontinent style than baby style but I am told that they are AB friendly and some of the things I see there could only be AB. A. C. Medical recommends them as an alternative if you can't find what you want there. When you first get them, they have that "tire" smell but after a few washings in luke-warm water, much of that goes away and you can make them smell like other things, such as baby lotion, by washing/rinsing them in the scent you want COMMENTS (LOOK & FEEL, ETC): Given the wide range of users of "rubber panties", in this case, real rubber, it is often the case that panties are evaluated on "babyishness". if you were NOT a baby or toddler, but still wore diapers, then you probably wore someethinhg like this at age 5 in 1954 after actual rubber panties had mostly gone out of the baby layette but still dominated the children's market. In late 1954, when I was 9 a little girl moved in next door whose parents still made her take naps at the age of 5 and she still had a wetting problem and wore diapers most of the time. She stayed over with us on afternnons and was a very accommodating little person; in retrospect, too much so. Her name was Debbie and was, in fact, the first Debbie I ever met. Someone told her, or her parents while she was in earshot, that I "liked rubber pants". well if I was on school vacation, she insisted that I take a nap with her and then that I feel her panties. I already knew what caressing or fondling any part of that area did and really did not want to go there so I used a light touch and confined it to the hips and kept that to a minimum, not wanting any trouble. I had also seen her being changed. This was often one of the kinds of panties that was put on her. So this is in the style of children's wear. In DPF several members wrote in the Newsletter that they wore rubber panties over plastic ones. Also,I have recently read that in terms of use of waterproof panties. the following should apply with regard to how many to use: Infant: 3 to 5. Toddler to 4 y/o: 2 to 4 and Over 4: 2 or 3 In terms of look and feel for children's rubber panties, the Kins Rubber panty comes pretty close, which is why I named the image file "debbie.jpg". However, much of your idea of what is right depends on when you were little. So if you need good "rubber panties", in this case, the real material, from 1953 and as far up as 1961, for an overage wetter, consider the Kins Rubber panty: EDIT Update. After a few washings they get that classic "baby rubber sheet" smell that can almost fill a roome and make it into a "rubber nursery". RATING: 9.5 depending on your taste
  5. I just ordered a pair of Babykins heavyweight panties to see what they are like Can anyone tell me what the lightweight material is like?
  6. This is not an exclusively cloth diaper issue since wetproof panties were often used over disposable diapers. Also there were some attempts to use panties that were made of fabrics

ITEM: #20-264 Christy (In the French Catalog they are called "Christine") Hight Waist Diaper Pants; Plastic pants, Plastic Panties. A C Medical also makes "Susan" which are the same but with smaller leg openings which I have not tried MATERIAL: PVC: several different kinds from mostly to exceptionally Smooth, soft, clear and colored transparent, one is pearlescent opque and prints from quite thin to medium thickness and would not stand up well to being worn close to the body RATING: 7 to 9 depending. NOISE: Some but not much RATING 5 (with 10 being a rustle/crinke fest fantasy). While that is fair to middling for babyishness it may be too much for other purposes LEAKS: As long as the elastics are good, they are negigible. RATING: 9, To be sure, like any, they can be over-wet or worn with too-thin diapers. PRICE BASIC In USA US $ 13. In Canada, Can $ 13. Other countries: US $ 14 (or 12 euro).OTHERS (different elastics) In USA US $ 14. In Canada, Can $ 14. Other countries: US $ 15 (or 13 euro). NOTES: These are sewn at the seams and elastics. They can come undone but are easily fixed with a spot of "Marine GooP" and the elastics can partially unravel but that is rare A. C. Medical claims that their products are specifically for disabled persons and they are not "fashion items". However, a look at their product lines of which there are many and varied, might make you question that as would the large number of pictures of their merchandise. Also the owner seems to be more knowledgeable about the details of the materials than disinterest would suggest as well as the fact that many of the panties have feminine names (about which I have never gotten any answers) and he liked two of the babydolls I designed, On a picutre and the othe one that I sent him. I was also told by one of the models who had her own site, in a roundabout way about 7 years ago that the owner enjoys what he is doing which is the closest to a direct answer I have gotten. They operate under special tax and postage laws that require them to advertise as strictly for disabled persons and the majority of what they sell like "short medical pants" and various diapers, fit into that category. What can I say except BE DISCREET and you will be well served!! All that I have is much circumstantial and some hearsay evidence. Delivery speed is a bit uneven with A. C. Medical since some of their things are assembled after the order. They get into that PAYMENT: A. C. Medical accepts PayPal, which is a big plus. THE POSTAGE FEE IS, FOR ORDERS TO USA, US $ 14 PER PARCEL (NOT PER GARMENT). FOR ORDERS TO CANADA, CANADIAN $ 13. FOR ORDERS TO OTHER COUNTRIES, THE POSTAGE FEE IS US $ 18 (or 15 euro) PER PARCEL. RATING 3 TO 10; depending on how you order COMMENTS (LOOK & FEEL, ETC): Given the wide range of users of "rubber panties", it is often the case that plastic pants are evaluated on "babyishness". If you are not interested in that, then this next part is not for you. if you were a baby, toddler or wore diapers anytime between 1952 and 1984, and your parents were moderately prosperous and did not use panties made from the cheap grainy material, chances are, you wore "rubber panties" made of material that was smooth an fairly thick, Thse are more like something that would have been specially made for an"older child" (4 and up) which even in 1953 was very feasible in most families. The thickness varies. The Thinnest material here as the same thicness as the Gerber baby panties that I used to compare shape. In this category, a picture is worth a thousand words. Head to head with real baby panties; the Gerber panties that are put on my dollies Andrea Lynne and Lisa Michelle. The Christy images are of what I have. As I said, thery come in a large assortment of materials based on colors and I do not have them all. Click for full size image. I simply put the Gerber panty on top of the Christy so that you could see them both at once. Also, I was unable to make the Christy panties lay flat which shows how full cut they are As you see, as well as other things, such as, sold in sheets, along with rubber, are "sanitary slips", both A-line and full-circle in stadnard and custom lengths form 18" to 41". These are very good items for Little Girls. Some of them are perfect for babydoll sets with matching dress and panties for those "Problem" Little Girls who need special attention and clothes Two pink babydolls, one hanging and one being worn An 18" full circle skirt and a babydoll of the same color worn over a longer pearlescennt slip and the same blouse
  8. Comco P.O. BOX 550 HINCKLEY, MN 55037 ITEM: Snap-on Plastic pants, Plastic Panties MATERIAL: PVC: Smooth, soft, translucent about 6 mil thick and very durable. . It is also very resistant to breaking down from close contact with the body, baby lotion and baby powder (but stay away from baby oil) very useful in some circles. RATING: 10 ELASTICS: Fairly wide but a bit scratchy. Over the years, they hold up well If you get the right size. RATING: 7 MEASUREMENTS: The sides are about 14" at the shortest point from waistband to legband and the crotch is about 10" at the narrowest point. SHAPE: Very full cut. a size L covers my doubled very thick cloth diaper. If you are near the upper size limit, get the next one up. RATING: 9 NOISE: Some but not much RATING 5 (with 10 being a rustle/crinke fest fantasy). While that is fair to middling for babyishness it may be too much for other purposes LEAKS: As long as the elastics are good, they are negigible. RATING: 9, To be sure, like any, they can be over-wet or worn with too-thin diapers. COLORS; Apparently white only. RATING: 1 NOTES: the snaps are very in the front. for those who sleep on their side and wear disposable diapers, this helps prevent leaks. RATING; 9 PRICE In USD: EACH; 17.00, 3-PACK: 44.00 6-PACK: 80.00 RATING 8 NOTES: Occasionally, you may get a pair of snap ons where one of the snaps does not work entirely right but a bad one in the batch is ture of anything in this world PAYMENT: Comco accepts PayPal, which is a big plus. Shipping and Handling is $US13 which for a single pair may be horrific but this appears to be good for all but the largest orders. RADTING 3 TO 10; depending on how you order ESTHETICS, LOOK AND FEEL: Given the wide range of users of "rubber panties", it is often the case that plastic pants are evaluated on "babyishness". If you are not interested in that, then this next part is not for you. if you were a baby, toddler or wore diapers anytime between 1952 and 1984, and your parents were moderately prosperous and did not use panties made from the cheap grainy material, chances are, you wore "rubber panties" made of material that was smooth and fairly thick, such as Baby-Mates and Sear's Best, of a milky white color. Empire, a long-time name in baby panties, while not that thick, was the same color. Comco has been described as "industrial" yet they were a proud sponsor of DPF and endorsed by many of the members of higher status. Well let us do a head to head comparison between Comco and real baby/toddler panties. In this category, a picture is worth a thousand words. With the snaps undone A closer look at the snaps Head to head with real baby panties: Because "Babyishness" is a matter mostly of looks, Here is a picture of the Comco with two pair of snap-on real baby panties Valex, Comco and Dorsey, in that order. I got the pictrues of the Valex and Dorsey from an Ebay sale that has long ended. As you see, the Comco panty compares well to the Dorsey and may be better than the Valex however, much of your idea of babyishness depends on when you were little. The crotch may be a bit narrow and they do lose a point or two in the noise factor if that is important to you. On the other hand, the thickness of the maaterial and its texture are almost ecactly like Sear's Best, Baby-Mates and the other high-quality baby pants of better days. So if you need good "rubber pants" from 1952 to 1984 for a baby, toddler or little consider Comco. . For me, a Very Little Girl; 4 to 6, whose diapers are different from baby/toddler, this works out very well, like being put in toddler rubber panties but too old to be a toddler. DPF would classify me as a Pre-schooler. In the early 1950's some children were occasionally diapered up to age 10 as being prone to "accidents" and a "super" or toddler size would be used with homemade diapers that are almost too long, but not too thick, to fit in the panty. This type of panty would be just fine for that. But it would still be considered baby or toddler. RATING: 8 to 9 depending on your taste. If you want to be "stealth", these are not for you. Comco scores very high in most of the categories so I give an overall rating Very Good to Excellent. How you evaluate them depends on whas is importantto you
  9. Most persons think of ruffled panties as "rhumba panties". These have been around for many decades along with "fancy pants". ordinarily. they are shell-and-lining panty with a lining of thin, grainy plastic. Most baby experts recommend against them because if either the shell or lining tear, the whole itemi is no good anymore. What they recommend is one or two good plastic panties and a separate panty over them. The other advantage is that if the girl outgrows her diapers, she can wear the panties by themselves. he other advantage is that if the girl outgrows her diapers, she can wear the panties by themselves Now given the lifespan of thin grainy plastic has a poor lifespan. This is probably more relevent for adult babies and Little Girls. As part of one of my babydolls, this is what I have. it is made of white satin In terms of knowledge, here is where we separate the girls from the girl-wannabes and poseurs. This is a "petti panty". There are more rows of ruffles and these go all around the panty. Everybody knows about rhumba panties but this is something else again Mine came form bigbabyfashion and were made for me. During the economic crash, that company went out and has since returned as a part-time ebay company called pinksatinsecrets. Here is the email/paypal address Username4542@aol.com You will have to tell her that this is to wear over thick diapers so they will be very full and puffy
  10. As time goes by (that would be a wonderful song title) and your baby panties age, the "new" smell" goes away and what replaces it is anything from nothing to icky Well have no fear. 45-55 years ago, many new baby panties had a smell like baby lotion when they were new. Now you can have that smell, too, Plastic picks up odors and they are hard to get off the material so that means they will stay. Since my diapers are washed about every two weeks that means my snap on panties are sitting around after being rinsed. While drying they are sprayed on the inside with a strong mix or Rite-Aid baby lotion and water then let to dry and put in a closed container. A day or so before my diapers get washed, these panties are put in a big container of a mixture of Rite-Aid baby lotion and water and let to soak. Then they are laid over a drying rack placed in the tub to dry. When my diapers afe folded and put on the shelves in my room the panties are put over them. After awhile, the small should become part of the material itself: Baby Heaven! (Gee: that would be a lively name for a product line)
  11. This is both a matter of practivallity and esthetics. I would suggest the following MATERIAL: Thick or thin? This tells you how durable Smooth or grainy, the texture. The better panties are made of smooth thick material, for example,, Comco. They are almost impossible to wear out in that regard. In the baby world, Sear's Best and Baby-Mate both from about 30 years ago. Empires from that time were smooth but relatively thin. I would say that the material is thin if it is 3 mil or less and thick if it is 6 mil, which seems to be the practical limit here SHAPE: how full-cut are they? this determines how thick or how many diapers you can use. I do not know of any units of measure for fullness MEASUREMENT: the width of the crotch at the narrowest point and the length from waistband to leg band at the shortest point. This will hlep you decide how long your diaper(s) should be. Generally 10" at the crotch seems to be the narrowest acceptible and at least 12" waist to leg band "BABYISHNESS: This is a matter of looks and is esthetic although a more practical panty will look more babyish. On the other hand, this is not a good attribute for stealth. I would venture to guess, however that the great majority of us would rate "babyishness" pretty high. Even most DL's have a bit of AB/AK in them from what I see here. As to units, I really have no idea here. I guess this dimension would run from low to high as follows.Stealth/ Incon, Boy, Sissy, Girl, Christine I yield the floor This can relate to both pure DL's and Inocns since the better panties would be made of better material

On the other hand, the thickness of the maaterial and its texture are almost ecactly like Sear's Best, Baby-Mates and the other high-quality baby pants of better days. So if you need good "rubber pants" from 1952 to 1984 for a baby, toddler or little consider Comco.
