Actually, cloth diapers are easy to use and very semple A diaper, pins and rubber panties (in the real world people call both plastic and rubber panties "rubber panties"). Make sure the diaper fits properly, pin in place and use the right panties. That means more than 3 mil thick, preferably smooth material on both the inside and outside material, at least 10" side seams and at least a 10" crotch, and an appropriately sized waist. I prefer the L L Medicon 7 mil. They have a wide range of waist and leg sized per panty" like 35 to 44" and check the leg size, use the company size chart, they list waist, leg, crotch and side seam. A large size overlap means that the fitting process is better with more options. for example I can fit a Small to a 4x Large. Also, you want good crotch and side seams coverage so that the panties fully cover the diaper with a moderate amount to spare when the diaper is pinmrf on. I have my own style of diaper with a stay dry "liner". I do not use a "soakcer" or insert, that keeps the caustic material between the legs longer. it is better to double-diaper. I also stay away from PUL or other woven material or laminate. If they are "breathable" then they also breath out as well as in and can release some nasty vapors. also the containmnet is suspect and that is something I have heard of for decades. You might wear 2 pnties as was recommended by DPF/ Cleaning them is very easy and all you need is a way to hang them upside down, which can be done on a plastic hanger with one side opened anf the bottom bar just run through the leg openings and then hung over the bathtub on a long shower curtain tension rod. They can also be washed in warm water and a mild solution of detergent like Dreft. Diapers should be rinsed well and dried, then washed en masse in warm water and Dreft or Tide, double-rinsed and dried. My homemade diapers are 9 years old and are used weekly. You also want a proper supply. For a starter set, depending on how often you have them on a dozen diapers and at least 4 rubber panties. I have two dozen, and equal number of L L Medico snap-on 7 mil panties that are changed with the diapers, and 4 Babykins 14 guage ivory classic childrens'' style rubber panties. That is it in a nutshell
